SUNSMART SW REGIONAL NIPPER CHAMPIONSHIPS

The South West Regional Championships will be held on Sunday 21st January 2024 at the City of Bunbury SLSC. The aim of the Regional Championships is to:

  1. Increase regional participation in Surf Sports;

  2. Improve regional athlete pathways;

  3. Improve regional acquisition and retention of junior members; and

  4. Increase sustainable support for the regions by SLSWA

This is an avenue for country club members to qualify to compete in qualification events at the 2024 SunSmart WA Nipper Surf Life Saving Championships.

EVENT DETAILS

HOST CLUB: City of Bunbury SLSC, Back Beach, Bunbury.

TIME: 9.00am registrations and 9.30am marshalling for first events

COMPETITORS: U8 to U13 Woodside Nippers from Dalyellup SLSC, Binningup SLSC, Busselton SLSC, Smiths Beach SLSC and Margaret River SLSC

ENTRIES: Nippers wanting to compete in the SW Regional Championships must be register with their club.

QUALIFYING CARNIVAL for the SLSWA Nipper State Championships for U10 to U13.

QUALIFYING EVENTS for Nippers are the Iron-person, board race, board rescue, beach sprint and beach flags.

IF your nipper does not come 1st or 2nd in the Board Race and Iron-person or 1st in the beach sprint, beach flags or board rescue qualifying events, they can still enter the SLSWA state Nipper Championships for those events by entering the Metro Qualifying carnival held at Mullaloo Beach, Saturday 17th February 2024 if they would like to compete in the SLSWA Nipper championships in the 1km beach run, surf race, and all team events they can still enter those events in the State championships as no qualifying restrictions apply.

STATE LEVEL MEDALS will be presented to Nippers coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all individual events, and the board rescue.
