Description
The SLSWA Silver Medallion IRB Driver course equips surf lifesavers with skills to operate Inflatable Rescue Boats (IRBs) for rescues, typically running over 8–10 sessions (approx. 32–35 hours) covering theory and practical surf sessions. This qualification is vital for high-level surf rescue operations. Participants must be at least 17 years old on the date of final assessment.
Prerequisites
Pay your club membership and course fee
Complete the online theory component via the SLS Hub
Hold a current Bronze Medallion
Hold a current IRB Crew Certificate
Hold a WA Recreational Skippers Ticket (RST).
Complete the checklist provided to you by the Director of Education

Wetsuit (Optional) for the morning session
Lunch & Snacks
Dry, comfortable clothing for the afternoon
